Animal of May 2020: Proboscis Monkey!
Hey everyone!!
Hope you're doing fine and that you have creativity and inspiration :)
Our new animal for this month is a very funny-looking monkey, the Proboscis Monkey, also know as Long-nosed Monkey or Bekantan :) all the readers of Hergé know it from the comic book "Vol 714 pour Sydney" ("Flight 714 to Sydney") in the Tintin Adventures series :D
Anyway, this truly interesting Monkey lives in the trees of Borneo, it eats leaves and fruit. These Monkeys live in groups with little to no territoriality: different groups often gather together at a time, then each goes its way, without conflicts ... quite cool, eh?
Anyway, we're all awa
Animal of April 2020: Saiga Antelope!
Hey everyone!!
Sorry for being 3 days late with this, but soooooooooooo much work to do...
Anyway, our new Animal of the Month is the Saiga Antelope!! This wonderfully intriguing and strange-looking animal is critically endangered and lives in small parts of Russia and Kazakhstan. It's an antelope with something that looks like a trunk, but is in fact a nose with bloated nostrils, making its appearance very distinctive. Let's all raise awareness about these beautiful creatures!!
You can learn more about them here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saiga_antelope
Last month was awesome, with a goooooooooorgeous collection of Great White Sharks
Animal of March 2020: Great White Shark!

The great White Shark is the only member left in the Cacharodon family, all their prehistoric cousins vanished a long time ago. They have no natural predators, except in some rare occasions killer whales, when and where their hunting grounds overlap. They measure generally between 4 and 6 meters (the females being bigger than the males) and can live up to 70 years, which is good, because t
Animal of February: Moscardon- Bombus Dahlbomii!
A fluffy red-orange and black bumblebee to put some sunset colors on our DA pages!! The Bombus Dahlbomii is the biggest bumblebee on Earth, lives in South America, where it is called Moscardon; since it is a very big bumblebee that looks furry, it is sometimes nicknamed "the flying mouse" :D
They are very important pollinators for Chile, Argentina and Patagonia, but are currently endangered because of the introduction of 2 other bumblebee species that brought pathogens with them... I haven't seen anything about a program to help saving them, so if you have, please note me with info, so I can put a link here...
I count on you all, nature fri
